Frank is 11, and he's a stuntman. At least in his imagination.
He's decided to pull off a death-defying leap, and he can probably
do it. The trouble is, his little sister has been following him
around all day, and she's determined to keep up.
THE FILM MAKERS
Stuntman is the 5th short film collaboration between
director/producer Pavel Kvatch, producer Katie Frost and writer
Joseph Ryan. Also involved is executive producer Costa Botes,
award-winning cinematographer Waka Attewell, editor Owen
Ferrier-Kerr and music composer Mike Newport. Our lovely cast
consists of Flynn Steward, who is a young up and coming actor
already amassing a large portfolio of work including Auckland
Theatre Company's "To Kill a Mockingbird", and a core cast role in
the TVNZ show "Cul de Sac". The fantastic Addison Kelly also
features in her first ever role on screen.
WE'RE NEARLY THERE...
In 2015 Stuntman was funded through the New Zealand Film
Commission's Fresh Shorts funding scheme. We are currently sixteen
months into post-production; the cut has been locked-off, we have
even completed the sound mix but we have spent most of that time
getting the visual effects right.
Although a lot of the VFX work has been started the project is
more technically ambitious than we anticipated, and we need to
bring on a team of experienced individuals to complete the film.
This involves rotoscoping, 3D modelling, compositing, amongst other
highly technical tasks. To complete all of this work, along with a
colourgrade of the film, it's going to cost $16,000 - $18,000.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO FINISH THE FILM!
Reaching our Boosted target of $10,000 will be a great start,
and it will enable us to finish all of the remaining 3D modelling,
rotoscoping, and some of the compositing work (piecing all of
the elements together). Any additional donations will be used to
cover the final compositing costs then finally the colour
Any donations to this project will be greatly appreciated, even
the smallest amount. All donors will be invited to a special
screening of the film prior to its public release and will also
recieve a special thank you in the end credits. You can watch the
video above for more information about the project.
We are passionate about this film and we have real hopes that it
will do well in the international film festival circuit.
