Please help us bring the celebrated PAGE TURNERS show to the 2016 New Zealand Festival!

Page Turners has been named a "priceless theatrical taonga", celebrating some wonderful trouble makers from Wellington's past. When this show appeared at the National Library in Wellington as part of the capital's 150th birthday celebrations in July this year, hundreds of people came to watch and we were blown away by the response.

Set before a giant, operating, pop-up book our five characters come to life, forming a company of 'ghostly' companions who'll tell you their stories. The pages of the book turn to reveal a pop-up world for each monologue:
• TE RAUPARAHA, Ngati Toa chief and great warrior who composed "Ka Mate"
• ROBIN HYDE, fine poet, crusading journalist and outspoken advocate for the downtrodden
• NANCY WAKE, the Wellington-born heroine who became the Gestapo's most wanted woman in WWII
• J K BAXTER, one New Zealand's foremost poets, a social activist, a visionary and libertine
• CARMEN RUPE, vivacious drag artist, rights activist, entrepreneur and brothel-keeper

These people helped create the Wellington we know today, their lives are intertwined with its history and growth. Their stories are as important as any statue, memorial or street name.

Brought to you by an awesome cast:
Jim Moriarty, Isobel McKinnon, Jean Sergent, Andrew Paterson and Borni Te Rongopai
Thanks to the New Zealand Festival, hundreds more will now have a chance to see the show but we need your help too.

What We Need from You
This is where you can help… we need to raise $7000 to meet some of the costs of the show. Your donation can help to not only produce the show but make it even better than before. You can help ensure that more people get to meet these amazing people!
