It is my privilege to be giving my time to manage this inspiring endeavour of national and international significance in commemoration of 1915. My 5 years as General Manager of Artsight Ltd has forged some wonderful and enduring relationships with New Zealand artists and fuelled my passion and commitment to New Zealand art. An initial involvement with this project arose out of a 2013 meeting with Robert Linnegar, Director of King St Gallery on William, Sydney. Robert told me of his long held vision to take a group of Australian artists to Gallipoli and his desire to involve New Zealand artists to reflect the true spirit of the ANZAC story. Three exceptional, esteemed artists Stanley Palmer, Michael Shepherd and John Walsh have been selected for the project on their merit, interest and personal connections to Gallipoli. Joining with prominent Australian artists the journey to Gallipoli will inspire a new body of work which will culminate in an Australasian exhibition tour entitled Your Friend the Enemy.
Special thanks to Matt Palmer, Josh Frizzell and the team at 8com especially Lucy Pilkington and filmmaker Michael Humphrey–without you this beautiful film would not have been possible. X
