The NEW ZEALAND GUITAR QUARTET (NZGQ) is New Zealand’s most sought after guitar ensemble, based in Wellington and known for their diverse programming, technical brilliance and polished ensemble skills. Career highlights include the New Zealand premiere of the Concerto Andaluz by Joaquin Rodrigo with the Nelson Symphony, busy tour schedules with Chamber Music NZ and Arts on Tour, and concerts in the Adam International Chamber Music Festival, the Southern Lakes Festival of Colour and Christchurch Arts Festival. The four members of NZGQ, Owen Moriarty, Jane Curry, John Couch and Christopher Hill have garnered acclaim as soloists on concert stages around the world and in a multitude of international guitar competitions. Each member contributes their individual strengths toward creating an exciting, dynamic and engaging ensemble.
