Dance and Performance
Formed in 2001 with the mission of making dance and physical theatre accessible to the people of Christchurch and beyond: the Dance and Physical Theatre Trust has grown into one of the key organisations for dance in New Zealand, highly respected internationally and working, in 2014 alone, with over 60,000 people across a range of activities.
Rebranded in late 2013 under the organisational identity 'Dance and Performance' the mission of the trust is to optimise the accessibility, promotion and advocacy of dance and performance, not only as an art form but also as one of recreation, health and physical activity for all. The organisation promotes: collaboration, participation and celebration through the organisation of activities which host and showcase performances of the highest caliber from New Zealand and overseas, encouraging active community participation at all times and at all levels.
