New Zealand School of Dance

The New Zealand School of Dance (NZSD) is recognised as one of the Southern Hemisphere's leading dance conservatoires. Established in 1967, it has become New Zealand’s foremost training establishment for classical and contemporary dancers.Students train full time towards two or three year qualifications and to prepare for careers as professional dancers. The NZSD also runs Aspirational programmes for younger dancers with promise. The school has an outstanding faculty of teaching staff and regularly hosts guest tutors from around the world. Graduates have gone on to make significant contributions to the dance world, dancing with companies such as the Royal New Zealand Ballet, Sydney Dance Company, The Australian Ballet, Royal Ballet of Flanders, Black Grace, Royal Danish Ballet, English National Ballet, Footnote Dance and Australian Dance Theatre.For more information please visit
