The Doodle Collective is a group of student artists from Bay of
Plenty Polytechnic. We are the last students to go through the
Diploma of Art and our final assessment is an exhibition at
Creative Tauranga Gallery and with your generosity we can give it
the send off it deserves as the diploma comes to an end to make way
for the new Bachelor of Creative Industries degree.
The group is made up of ten emerging artists
The Graduand show, showcasing a variety of styles and topics,
from geometric abstraction and expressionist portraiture to
sculptural representations of death, is the culmination of two
years of hard work and dedication. The students' tutor, Nicol
Sanders O'Shea said the group had learned a variety of skills over
the past year and are poised for a bright future in the arts.
"This group took up the challenge this year to test out
presentation concepts in several campus exhibitions, participated
in a pop-up exhibition and art performances in the Tauranga Arts
Festival, as well as this exhibition at Creative Tauranga Gallery.
They have practically learnt aspects of Art Business while engaged
with new mediums and contextualising their ideas. The Doodle
Collective has a bright future in the arts."
Donated money will go towards the exhibition opening event and
We would like to invite you to attend the exhibition opening
from 5.30pm November 8 at Creative Tauranga Gallery or view
the exhibition, open November 9 to November 26.
