As proud kiwis we believe these stories deserve to be shared near and far. MUNTED has been termed "Powerful and Humane, yet often humorous" - John Smythe, theatreview.org.nz and "Sharp, tight, witty and powerful." - Stephen Austin, theatreview.org.nz

From July 3rd - July 27th (19 performances in total) we will be performing at the renowned Stella Adler Academy and Theatre, in Hollywood. As we are travelling to Los Angeles to perform the show (before coming back to tour around New Zealand) we want to be able to support our show with information about New Zealand, specifically Christchurch, so that we can encourage people to come visit to help rebuild the tourism and learning around one of our oldest cities.

There are a number of ways that NZ society will benefit from this season:

1) We have chosen to give 30% of our box office from the Los Angeles Season back to Youthline Christchurch.

Producer Jackie got in touch with Youthline Christchurch and after the 15 minute conversation, and hearing of the problems facing the youth of Christchurch after the devastating earthquake, there was no hesitation that this organisation would benefit.

"I'd say there'll be a lot of um, there'll be a lot of depression, there'll be a lot of stuff that really affects people later on, um after the quake" - Policewoman as part of MUNTED, interview taken place in June 2011.

The mission of Youthline is to support and empower young people through the challenges they may face, helping them to seek their own solutions and positive choices. Youthline Central South Island has been part of the Canterbury community for over 40 years, and is dedicated to developing a community where young people are supported to achieve their potential.

"Youth mental health emerges as the primary immediate issue facing Christchurch's young people where previously it ranked third." - Vodafone New Zealand Foundation

2) 20% of the box office will go into a scholarship for New Zealanders studying at the Stella Adler Academy and Theatre.

3) We believe art is an integral part of society and one of the main motivations behind this piece of work is creating discussion in communities. Not only locally (through our NZ tour), but also internationally (through the LA season).

4) Experiences gained in America will enable us to feed back into the work we do here in New Zealand (teaching, workshops, producing, Victoria's Clown Doctor role at Starship Hospital)
