A while ago I met some fast food delivery guys while I worked a part time job next door. We talked during our downtime and they told me some truly crazy stories.

I'm not sure how true these stories were as to me their jobs seemed highly repetitive and monotonous, but the idea that these oddballs were welcomed (mostly!) into complete strangers lives and homes every night stuck with me.

This short film is based around those delivery workers and explores themes of loneliness and alienation - feelings that have always interested me as a foreign Kiwi.

As with my previous work, 'Blue' and 'Desert', the protagonist in 'Delivery' is again someone who feels isolated and displaced, without a sense of direction - someone who needs a break. But at the same time, this is a love story, and should resonate with a great number of us who feel misunderstood and at odds with the greater community.

We need a minimum of $10,000 to get into production. Every dollar will go into the screen, making this story look cinematic. It's been a challenge both me and Gio Jin to get this project alive. Your generously will not only give us a change to share this story but will also open up a pathway to tell more stories like this.

Please donate and share to everyone.

A quick story; The delivery man see the Christmas decoration complete with the Christmas tree in the house over the skinny guy’s shoulder. Although the decoration blinks colourful light, the skinny man’s eyes show he's bored. The door closes and the delivery man questions why this man decorates his room with Christmas lights in April.

Merry Christmas & Happy new year

Thank you so much everyone, who supports Delivery. We’ve reached another milestone - over 90% in a week. Thank you. But it’s not over yet so please share to our Boosted to everyone you know to donate.

Here is Stephen’s Cannes Critic's Week Grand Prix short film - BLUE. Watch it, If you have spare 15min.

I will share another story; The delivery man carrying way too much food. It would be a party or it could be some special occasion. When he knocks on the door young man in his 20s opens the door. The delivery man glimpses behind the young man. He could see five other guys minding their own businesses like they are all strangers. The delivery man looks down and he counts so many shoes. He receives the money and turns around. And realise it’s one bedroom apartment they are sharing.

We have managed to reach 70% of our target in three days. Thanks to all Delivery supporters. We are so grateful for your support. This encourages us to actively moving forward to pre-production.

I will share one story; The door opens when a delivery guy knocks. A boy around ten years old opens the door. The kid already had an exact amount of the money in his hands to pay for the food. The delivery guy could see the boy’s younger brother playing behind him. The boy quickly closes the door as he received the food. The delivery guy is certain that there weren’t any adults in the house.

We will share more stories and images in the future updates so keep an eye out for those. Please share our Boosted page to others and encourage them to donate if you can. We need your help to keep this story alive and continue us to keep going.
