Mark Lapwood

Marks career spans almost thirty years and multiple countries. His work has won numerous awards internationally for features films, commercials, music videos and documentaries.

‘Eclipse’ his debut short film as Director/Cinematographer shot in Mumbai (Bombay) won several awards, most notably the coveted Australian Film Institute (AFI) Award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Short Film Screen Craft (Cinematography)’ in 2007, plus ACS (Australian Cinematographers Society) Gold for Best Cinematography.

Born and raised in New Zealand, Mark trained as a Cinematographer in Australia and filmed around the world, predominantly in Asia. His work has screened internationally at festivals including Tribeca, Cannes, Toronto, Honolulu, Rhode Island, Pusan, Mexico, St. Kilda, Sydney and the New Zealand International Film Festival.

Mark returned to New Zealand in 2011 to embark on his passion project ‘Soul Places’ bringing a deeper message about the beauty of nature and humanity to the world. He now lives in Auckland with his partner Christine.
