Kia Ora. My name’s Paul, and I’m a self-taught artist. I was born in Rotorua, spent a decade living in Wellington and London, and have now settled in Auckland. I’ve been selling my paintings since 1994, and I launched my own website way back in the year 2000 and have been selling to collectors in the US, the UK and around the world since then.Over the last decade I’ve created artwork for bFM, Base FM, Alt TV, god bows to math and Fat Freddy's Drop. I don’t work with any dealers, galleries or agents, preferring to sell my artworks directly. This is a double-edged sword; it keeps the price of my work down for my fans, but it keeps my pockets empty.... and now that I am supporting my wife and our son, I need to either find a way to monetize my art by having a proper exhibition, instead of sitting on the side of the street trying to flog paintings or selling them on Trademe for $25. Either that, or give up my art completely and focus on my day job. And my day job is booooring.
