Young Christchurch dancer, singer, musician and actor James Buchanan has been accepted into 'ArtsEd' (Arts Educational Schools) - the prestigious musical theatre school in London. James has been selected from hundreds of international applicants and will pursue a three year degree in Professional Music Theatre. With distinguished alumni such as Julie Andrews and Sarah Brightman, the study at ArtsEd will help prepare James for a career in London's West End.
James has been performing since he was nine years old, making his professional theatre debut at age 14 in the Court Theatre Season of 'Anything Goes'. Since starting out performing in Kapa Haka, James has amassed a wide variety of experience encompassing dance, instrumental and vocal music, conducting and more recently specialist training in acting and singing in musical theatre. His selection into the prestigious 'ArtsEd' musical theatre programme reflects his natural talent and training, and endorses his potential as a world class musical theatre actor, singer and dancer.
