Based in Canterbury Genre Theatre

Luke Cossey

From a young age I learnt to be driven and hardworking. At age 15 I graduated from Vision College with a diploma in Software Engineering and Design, I immediately moved onto studying at University of Canterbury. By the age of 18, I graduated with a BSc majoring in Computer Science. I currently work part time as a contracting software engineer. This gives me the flexibility to attend dance and singing lessons during the day, as evenings are usually filled with rehearsals for the next show.

I also, from a young age, had quietly dreamed about performing on stage, but didn't pursue it as I felt that in this sport focussed country that theatre wasn't for boys. Finally in 2013 I pushed passed this and started being tutored in singing and acting by Ravil Atlas.

Since then I have performed in a number of productions, some of which being: Duncan in A Long Way From Broadway, Preston in Hate Mail (Dramasoc), Prince Charming in Snow White (Riccarton Players) and a chorus member in Chicago (NCMS).

I am currently performing as Sonny in Grease (Ashburton Variety Theatre), tickets to see the show are here (closing 23rd of May).
I also sing in Christchurch POPS Choir.
